On November 17, 2014, the Culture and Tourism Office of the Bishoftu Municipality held a green sign tree planting at Ifa Boruu Secondary School. The I/G of the Culture and Tourism Office of the City Administration said that billions of trees will be planted annually to solve the problem of natural and man-made climate change in the country Bishop, Ms. Gannat Mokonnin.

“The tree planted should reach the desired goal and everyone should participate in its maintenance to avoid the risk of climate change,” said I/A of the Oromia Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Birhanu Buuxee.
Along with the tree planting, they plan to donate 600,000 books this year and 5,000 books have been collected for Bishoftu.
The event was attended by the I/A Mayor of Bishoftu, Mr. Abdusalaam Mahammad, Abbootti Gada and Hadha Siinqee staff of the Culture and Tourism Office.
